Kunishige: Sheriff shoulda been there

In response to a story in the New American re: the alleged attempt by the federal government to take away a Priest River vet’s guns, Kootenai County sheriff’s candidate Tina Kunishige wrote in her candidate’s Facebook page:

“I was also at the Veteran’s home in Priest River to support and defend his rights from government intrusion. Our current Sheriff of KC should have been there also and should have been prepared to call to arms the militia if the need should arise to help and support a fellow Sheriff.”

Question: Is it the job of the Kootenai County sheriff to defend gun rights — or an allegation of a gun wrong — in Bonner County?
