Letter: Write-in needed vs Gookin

I understand her reasons, but I was disappointed to see in Thursday’s Press that Barbara Hedden has taken herself out of the City Council race for seat 3. In a city the size of ours, I think it is a shame that anyone for any office should run unopposed. If you like the job that Dan Gookin has done in seat 3, please vote for him. Dan has a lot of loyal followers and I am sure he will have an overwhelming victory on Nov. 3. If, however, you are unhappy with Dan’s style of leadership, there is always the option of a write-in vote. Write-in anyone you like: yourself, your spouse, your friend.
