Teen mag rips CHS dance dress code
The teen magazine “seventeen” has weighed in on the dress code for the Coeur d’Alene High Homecoming Dance that miffed come parents and their children Saturday. “seventeen” mag is running an online story about the flap, which it titled, “This school banned spaghetti traps 2 days before homecoming and students aren’t happy: Girls with non-refundable dresses were completely out of luck.” The article repeats information provided by a KREM2 report, except for the ending. It concludes: “The school district said they were just trying to maintain a safe and fun environment for the dance, but it’s hard to see how Kara’s perfectly tasteful dress would have made the dance any less safe or fun. Hopefully in the future, if CDA high school insists on enforcing such a restrictive dress code targeted specifically at girls, they’ll make sure everyone is aware of it well before the dance.” You can see the “seventeen” article here.
