Fires still burning

On his Facebook wall, Sheriff Mitch Alexander of Shoshone County reports:

“We have been contacted by several people inquiring about any new fires in the area due to the smoke in the air. The fires in the St. Joe and up the North Fork are still burning and likely will until we get non stop rain and or snow. The fires just haven’t been doing much, so we haven’t been reporting on it. The smoke today is likely from one of these local fires. If any new information develops, we will definitely put it out. The smoke does appear to be a little worse on the West end of the county.”
