Vandals win, questions remain
The head coach and the defensive coordinator exchanged a bear hug, the starting quarterback let out a fist pump and a sparse but spirited student section rocked the Kibbie Dome. They rocked it like it was 2009. For the first time in four years, the Idaho Vandals aren’t 0-3. That’s the good news. But even in the wake of a 41-38 victory, they didn’t exactly walk away smelling like roses. Sure they passed the test, but if we’re talking letter grades, even a D-minus is a passing mark at most institutions. They won the war, but for the better part of four quarters, they couldn’t tame the Terrier, or stone the wishbone. And at a point in time when it would’ve been nice to see these Vandals make a statement, they nearly let their opponent from the Southern Conference make one of their own. Idaho fended off the FCS with its third victory in as many years under coach Paul Petrino, besting Mike Ayers and his tricky triple-option in the final minutes/ Theo Lawson , Lewiston Tribune. More here.
Question: Do you think the Vandals will win another game this year?
