Hearn: Damned if you do …

On his Facebook page, Coeur d’Alene School Trustee Tom Hearn posted the following re: flap over dress code at Coeur d’Alene High dance :

“This is one of these issues as a trustee you deal with that your kinda “damned if you do and damned if you don’t.” If you have a dress code people complain that it is too restrictive or not restrictive enough, and if you don’t have a dress code people complain that there should be a dress code because students are dressing inappropriately. I’m sure the Board can come up with a good compromise in our wording…. and I’m also looking forward to our Chair Christa Hazel sharing her prom pictures with the Board, which should lighten things up a little.”

Question: How would you like to enforce a dress code, with some parents demanding enforcement and others demanding liberty?
