VW articles collide
Great timing on the publishing of the two articles on Volkswagen in the Sept. 19 paper. One describes how the company willingly and admittedly tricked U.S. emissions tests for the last six years using smart software on their small and supposedly revolutionary diesel engines. The other feature article in the auto section touts VW’s compact crossover Tiguan.
I recently visited Europe, rode around on the highways there, and was impressed by the German cars. My next car purchase will be a German brand, but I’ve crossed VW, Audi and Porsche off my list. BMW and Mercedes are still in the running.
