WSU sorority cleans Tubbs Hill

More than 170 sorority members from Washington State University volunteered their time recently to pitch in and clean litter from Tubbs Hill. The public service activity was provided by the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. “We wanted to help give back to the community and clean up a place that so many people enjoy,” said Kappa Kappa President Taylor Lange. “Tubbs Hill is such a great place to come and we’re thrilled to do our part to keep it nice.” The sorority plans to make the Tubbs Hill clean up an annual event. DFO: This may be an instance of great public good coming out of great public embarrassment . In spring 2014, Kappa Kappa Gamma was the sponsoring sorority for an outing on Coeur d’Alene Resort tour boats that devolved into public drunkenness and public urination at City Park. Huckleberries Online posted the story and a photo of the disorderly conduct , which led to charges of misconduct being filed by Washington State. As penance, the sorority returned to Coeur d’Alene later in the spring to clean up Tubbs Hill. They did so again over the weekend. And now it sounds as though they plan to make the cleanup exercise an annual event. Good for Kappa Kappa Gamma.
