Schlenske case is troubling

So all charges against Jon Schlenske, CEO of Spokane Treatment and Recovery Services, were dropped. I find it disconcerting that the detox “board did not feel that any action was necessary;” (September 19) based on the published information that he appeared to be extremely intoxicated.

It was also interesting that the board “believed all charges have been dropped” on Saturday, Sept. 19, when the court hearing did not occur until Monday, Sept. 21. Was some sort of deal made?

The response of the board seemed to cast a “blame the victim” response to the woman who filed the charges and to minimize the severity of Schlenske’s use. I hope the board authorizes the help he appears to need at this time.
