Supreme Court doing its job

Jay Logan (Sept. 25) is fundamentally confused to say that “the law of the land is the Constitution, not the unlawful decree by five members of the Supreme Court.” Logan seems not to understand that the Constitution is whatever the U.S. Supreme Court says it is. That’s one reason we have a Supreme Court: to interpret the meaning of the Constitution.

Contrary to what Logan says, there is no logic in the court’s ruling about gay marriage pertaining to marrying your sibling or your children. Nor can the judges be placed “in jail” for doing their jobs, or for not following “the real law of the land.” By the way, exactly what law is that?
