ISIS is very dangerous
I need to be careful about this because there is a sentiment in this country today that anyone even suggesting that there may be something dangerous about any group just doesn’t understand them.
I heard an analysis this morning about what happened in Brussels and what is happening all over Europe. It highlighted that the perpetrators are being born from the poor and disaffected as they become radicalized by the promises of glory offered by one religious sect.
I started thinking about the history of terrorism and mass murder that became the signature of the Nazi regime – those disaffected and poor born from war-torn Germany after World War I. They were swayed by the promises of glory from Adolf Hitler as he pointed at “the enemy” – the Jews – they had to destroy. Germany truly came close to world domination.
ISIS sees “anyone who is not one of us” as the enemy. Hitler was one man. These guys count in the tens of thousands and likely far more. Germany was one country. This is a worldwide religious cause and exists in most countries. This is extremely dangerous.
