Keep Looff Carousel special

The Looff Carousel is a precious heirloom of Spokane. It has lived here since 1909. That’s over 100 years of the famous band organ and intricate horses.

The undeniable center of Riverfront Park and Spokane itself, the Looff Carousel is known to all Spokanites. It’s a childhood tradition to climb atop a favorite steed and bob up and down around the room. I remember my first time, with my mother next to me as I giggled with joy. It’s a truly magical ride.

This is why it must be preserved and protected at all costs; all of the memories that are made last forever. Adults and children alike still ride today. They enjoy quaint historic aspects, as well as new ones. The Looff Carousel is one of the few carousels that still has an operating ring machine.

The Looff Carousel is Spokane’s history and an important part of our culture. Please always help to remember how special the Looff Carousel really is.
