America is lost

As someone who lived during the Great Depression and World War II, I’m wondering what happened to my America? During World War II, as a nation we all pulled together with teamwork on the war front and home front, we succeeded in defeating the Axis and their dream of world domination.

Back then, with no TV and little radio, we visited family, friends and neighbors and discussed current events. We respected our government and dearly loved our country. There was very little “What’s in it for me?” mentality. We worked hard and appreciated what we had. We respected teachers and schools because most of our parents hadn’t had the chance to graduate from high school.

Did we run scared? No, we were a tougher and braver breed. There were few pain pill addictions. Meth, cocaine and heroin weren’t a factor. We seldom took aspirin.

A boastful divisive bully like Donald Trump wouldn’t have any credibility. To top it off, we didn’t need Rush Limbaugh to think for us.

Where’s my America? I miss you.
