Poet laureate, 9 others, Bard of Sherman Ave tribute set for library

Spokane’s Tod Marshall, the Washington State Poet Laureate for 2016-2018, will head a list of 9 talented poets from North Idaho and Spokane, who will highlight an evening of poetry at the Coeur d'Alene Library Friday. The evening will also include a tribute to Tom Wobker, The Bard of Sherman Avenue.

The Coeur d’Alene Library will host a night of poetry, featuring nine Spokane and North Idaho poets, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Tod Marshall, a Gonzaga University prof and Washington State Poet Laureate, will headline a list of the region’s best poets. The lineup includes: Maya Zeller, Laura Read, Brooke Matson, Cathy Bobb, Roger Dunsmore, Jenni Fallein, Anne Awbrey and Bill Yates. The evening will also include a tribute to Coeur d’Alene’s Bard of Sherman Avenue. Poems from the audience will be welcomed. The Well-Read Moose Cafe will provide Wine and Beer and Poetry snacks for purchase and enjoyment. More information here.
