Clinton losing young people

In an interview on Sunday, Secretary Hillary Clinton remarked that she “feel[s] sorry for young people.” Apparently Sen. Bernie Sanders has pulled the wool over the eyes of all of these “young people,” of which, I assume, I am one. So, with my woolen beanie securely over my eyes, I reply.

I feel sorry for you, Hillary Clinton: That in the eight years since the last Democratic primary, you haven’t discovered what young people are passionate about; that patronizing and insulting voters is the best defense you have for your campaign; that you must generalize voters who you cannot reach as misguided and deceived; that, even if the Republicans nominate Donald Trump, you have lost my vote entirely (I will vote third party, if you are nominated).

I feel most sorry that you are the last of a dying breed of politicians, but only if young people remain misguided and delusional. Perhaps we will grow up, and your presidency will prove sparkling and refreshing: restoration of the middle-class and reform of Wall Street and politics, or we will merely say that your name was a placeholder, not for “Hope and Change” or a “Political Revolution,” but for “Not Trump.”
