Sanders leverages party brand

After two rounds of the Democratic caucus, one thing has become clear. All Hillary supporters and all older Bernie supporters with whom I talked are prepared to vote for either candidate, because both are far better than any Republican alternative.

However, the young Berniebots, folks getting involved in their first campaigns, are constantly crying “Bernie or Bust!” If they don’t win, they’ll take their toys and go home. They claim a man who has been in the Senate for 25 years is an “outsider” and follow him as he shouts sound bites.

They support a demagogue without realistic plans of action. They decry political parties while voting for a man who claims he’s independent yet joined a party to leverage the time, effort and money Democrats have spent to build a national organization - all the while watching Sanders refuse to say he’ll campaign for other Democrats and while they say they’re only interested in him.

They sound more like Republicans than they do progressives they claim they are.

Hillary Rodham Clinton is the only experienced, qualified person running for president either major party, and the hate sent at her from Trump and Sanders doesn’t change that.
