Mountain lion seen in Dalton Gardens

A mountain lion was sighted (Sunday) morning in Dalton Gardens. Kootenai County Sheriff’s deputies responded around 9:30 to a report of the animal’s presence in the area of Baillie Street and Prairie Avenue. After deputies confirmed it was a young mountain lion, the animal ran northbound from the area. Another report came in 15 minutes later. A citizen saw the mountain lion running down the road near Tartan and Stonehaven drives. The sheriff’s office has notified the Idaho Department of Fish and Game and referred the incident to that agency/ Coeur d’Alene Press.
