HUNTING — When choosing a pup from a litter of well-bred bird dogs, “Don’t overthink it,” says Dan Hoke, professional dog trainer and breeder at Dunfur Kennel near Cheney.

A lot of great dogs develop after being the last of the litter to be picked, he said.
