HMO: Worst boat crash on Lake CdA
HMOffsuite (who lives on Lake Coeur d’Alene) comments:
“I have been boating on the lake for over 50 years and cannot recall any tragedy worse than this incident. As a matter of fact, this may be the single worst in the history of the lake, for several decades for certain. It would seem a press conference or at least a full statement be released on the tragedy. Who was moving or not? Who had the right of way? Was speeding or drugs/alcohol involved? Were navigation lights operational? And, more importantly, what were the names of the 5 in the ‘other’ boat? This lack for a full accounting of the circumstances doesn’t set well with me. I would expect that at the conclusion of the investigation, answers to those questions will be provided, but that should be mentioned at this time. Why no more information? Sounds like some kind of ‘cover up’ or something. Very puzzling in any event.”
DFO: The delay in getting the full report may be tied up with the all-out search for the bodies of the three victims.
