Vacation time…

I’ll be off all next week, and there are some pretty newsy things coming up I’ll be sorry to miss. Among them: U.S. Sen. Jim Risch’s City Club of Boise talk Monday on civility. This is the same Risch who once informed the Idaho Press Club, the League of Women Voters and Idaho Public TV that the only way he’d debate his election opponent, Larry LaRocco, in the “Idaho Debates” was if he could appear separately and be interviewed, and then leave the studio while LaRocco did do the same. That’s not generally how we do debates! Then in 2014, there was the handshake snub at Risch’s KTVB debate against Dem challenger Nels Mitchell. So I’ll look forward with interest to hearing what Risch had to say about civility.

Also next week, the Legislature’s joint interim working group on the state’s health coverage gap has a meeting set for Thursday at 9. I’ll try to catch up on it all when I’m back and blogging a week from Monday, on Aug. 15.
