Active shooter training offered
On October 8, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office will be offering a free 2-hour Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events class at the Volunteer Search & Rescue (VSAR) building for any Kootenai County citizen who would like to attend. This class will consist of information on Disaster Response Psychology, how to increase your chances of surviving an Active Shooter Event (Avoid, Deny, and Defend), several past Active Shooter cases, and case study of the Active Shooter Virginia Tech case./ KCSO Press Release .
