Catching up with former CPD spokeswoman Christie Wood

Christie Wood, North Idaho College trustee & former spokeswoman for the Coeur d'Alene Police Department.

If you’re like me, you wondered what happened to Sgt. Christie Wood, after she retired from the Coeur d’Alene Police Department earlier this year. Here’s the answer in her own words, for readers of Huckleberries Online:

“I am keeping very busy making the K27 memorial a reality. Mayor Widmyer is a great inspiration and we are making good progress on our goals.

“I still have 2 years left in my term for the NIC Board. I am still enjoying the college very much and I am excited for the CTE facility to open this fall.

“This summer I was appointed to the Park and Rec Commission and I am enjoying working with Councilman Edinger and others to keep our parks in great shape.

“I also cleaned my house for the first time in probably 15 years right after I retired. Husband and I have been very busy on home projects. I have traveled a bit and have got to spend time with my son who lives in San Diego. Life is good!”
