On the Waterfront …

On the waterfront today, I:

  • Heard an Ironman CDA crew member tell a woman that the fast triathletes get through the swim-bike transition in 3 to 4 minutes, while most others take 7 to 10 minutes.
  • Heard a woman, who was pushing a baby with walker at McEuen Park, tell a friend on her cell call that she was “getting her exercise on.”
  • Failed to see many if any individuals who looked like Ironman CDA triathletes, although the Ironman Village was open for business. There were a few interested strollers walking through it.
  • Saw workers inside the future Victory, the sports pub and sister business to Crafted, busy fixing the inside of the place. Which refutes recent reports that Victory had opened Monday.
  • Saw the poster on the future Mountain Madness Soap Co at the old Everson’s Jewelry that said the Sherman Avenue business was going to open soon. The shop is owned by Mayor Steve Widmyer and his wife, Marie.
  • Learned from the gardener culling red geraniums along the front lawn of the Coeur d’Alene Resort that it’s best to dead-head geraniums shortly after they bloom to make room for others.
  • Gas was selling for $2.29 for regular at the Mobile station at Garden Ave/Northwest Blvd.
