Condon’s selection offensive

As a citizen of Spokane, I am offended by Mayor Condon’s audacity in his disregard for the process of selecting a new chief of the Spokane Police Department. He should not be allowed to just dismiss the established process and work and contributions of the citizens in the selection process.

The selection of Craig Meidl speaks of maintaining “the blue line” and the “good old boy club.” Spokane needs a chief that has an exemplary reputation, and no ties to any Spokane entity.
