Poll: 2006 tax shift was bad idea
- Wednesday Poll: A solid majority of Hucks Nation opposes the 2006 action by the Idaho Legislature that shifted school operation and maintenance funding from the property tax to the sales tax. A recent study by Idaho Education News shows that the shift actually raised taxes for Idahoans rather than lowered them. 62 of 165 respondents (37.58%) said they never supported the shift, while another 32 (19.39%) said they no longer support it. OTOH, 50 (30.3%) said they still support the shift. And 21 (12.73%) are undecided.
- Today’s Poll: Do you agree with Councilman Dan Gookin that the city should eliminate 2-hour free parking in downtown Coeur d’Alene?
