Dobler no longer with city

By mutual agreement, long-time City Engineer Gordon Dobler has resigned his position with the city of Coeur d’Alene. Dobler, whose ending salary was $97,970 per year, left his job, effective Monday, Aug. 8. He began working for the city on Aug. 23, 1993, and continues to serve as a consultant on such projects as a joint upgrade of Highway 95 with Kootenai Health and a lighting project on Government Way. “We appreciate his long service,” said Deputy City Administrator Sam Taylor. “He’s helped us coordinate and get our affairs in order.”

The city has now combined the streets and engineering departments into one, under the directorship of Tim Martin, who had been the city streets director. The city is now advertising for a city engineer, who will work under Martin. In the interim, the city has turned to JUB Engineers and Welch-Comer to handle work that requires engineering expertise.
