Dark money behind election

It has been a laborious 18 months since the election started to take shape. How did it get so nasty and who put all the money in to make sure it was successful?

This election was actually started decades ago. Yes, decades, with lots of monied influence that could swing it to exactly who financed it. It was the brainchild of the Koch brothers, David and Charles, and was all about how to get government to be agreeable with anything business could want – fewer regulations equal dirty air and water and no oversight of anything, basically. If it isn’t good for business, it isn’t good.

But not just shaping the message and promoting it, teaching it, too. More than 400 universities and high schools getting funding to teach the Koch mantra. Check it out, years of interviews and quotes, in Jane Mayer’s book “Dark Money.” You won’t want to put it down. Available at the library.
