Banana-nog, anyone?
One of the Christmas traditions of Ron and Corinna Hunter is “banana-nog.” Corinna sets the scene for Huckleberries readers. Ron, who retired recently as the long-time pastor of the Coeur d’Alene Church of the Nazarene, would fix banana-nog for Corinna and the children — Julienne, 9, and Ronnie, 6 — before gifts were opened, way back in his days as a young pastor living in the Grand Coulee Nazarene parsonage in Washington. So what’s banana-nog. Here’s the recipe passed down from a family friend: “1 banana, 1 egg, 8 oz milk, dash of vanilla, dash of cinnamon, blend in blender and enjoy. YUM!”
DFO: BTW, Ron is serving as interim pastor for the Grand Coulee Nazarene Church, which he helped build in the 1970s. They live in the parsonage on weekends and commute back to Coeur d’Alene for part of the week. If you miss Ron’s preaching, you can find six of them on YouTube.
Question: Do you have a special tradition?
