Sometimes, I wonder …
Sometimes, I wonder who is the pet and who is the master. Case in point. Last night, after working a full day in the Coeur d’Alene office, I returned home, ate, looked outside to see how much snow was on the driveway and sidewalk. Too much. So I headed out into the cold to do the hand shoveling. At 67, I still enjoy the exercise. When I finished, I checked the patio and saw 10-12 more inches of snow. Ditto for the yard beyond. I figured I should clean off the patio to help 3YO Huckleberry the Beagle, all 18 pounds of her, get around without burying herself in the snow. Then, I decided to clear out a path for her around the wood pile to the fence. Then, I decided to plow out a second run for her, following her foot prints out to the garden. All the while, Huckleberry was sacked out in front of the fire place. My wife appreciated the gesture. Huckleberry merely yawned. She expected it of her slave. Something’s wrong with this photo.
Question: Who has the upper hand/paw at your house — you or your pet(s)?
