Borah Elementary kindergartener Jade Atwood raises her hand to collect another book during the Jingle Books giveaway at the school in Coeur d’Alene on Wednesday. Jingle Books book drive was created in 2014 by Dave Eubanks and Greta Gissel. Every student in kindergarten through 3rd grade in Kootenai County will be able to choose four free books this holiday season. “The whole idea is to improve early childhood literacy,” said Dave Eubanks. The group collected 45,000 new and used books this year. (Kathy Plonka/SR photo)
