Shazam! There’s new Cobb salad in the Lake City
I’ve been mourning the loss of a great Cobb salad since Chili’s switched things up in the salad section a few years back. Chili’s offered a dine-oh!-mite Cobb for years. I eschewed everything else on the menu accept that salad, except for an occasional fajita on two-for-Monday days. Now, thanks to my son-in-law, Okie Doke, I’ve discovered Red Robin’s Avo-Cobb-O salad. I’m not a big hamburger guy at family restaurants. Too greasy. Too big. Too much bun. But I was ready to settle for a Red Robin burger with all the French Fries you can eat, when Okie Doke drew my attention to the Avo-Cobb-O. the “avo” part refers to avocado, which is a nice add-on for such a salad. I would describe Red Robin’s Avo-Cobb-O. But this is a blog. I can provide a photo here. All I can say is … Red Robin has gained another fan. Now, if I could find the perfect Rueben sandwich.
Red Robin’s description of the Avo-Cobb-O: “Grilled chicken breast, hardwood-smoked bacon, Bleu cheese, hard-boiled eggs, tomatoes and, of course, avocado on mixed greens. Served with garlic toast and choice of dressing.” All for $10.79.
Question: Can you describe your favorite restaurant salad?
