The Way We Were

I really like this 1946 photo of Darlene Prosser, of Coeur d’Alene, who turns 89 next Tuesday. First, I enjoy the carefree moment that the camera caught. Second, her daughter, Karen, tell Huckleberries, Darlene, who was 18 at the time, wore jeans for the first time for this outing with two sisters-in-law and a niece. Wearing jeans was becoming the style among girls and young women at the time. Finally, the photo was taken on Sanders Beach, near the Jewett House. Much thanks to Karen Prosser and her mom, Darlene, for sharing this wonderful photo with Huckleberries.
