Ybarra writes to teachers re: evals

Idaho Superintendent of Schools has written a letter to the state’s public school teachers. A source has sent that letter to Huckleberries Online. Here’s the opening paragraphs:

“It is important that I reach out to you today to say that I am proud of you, and that you are doing a great job. Having been in your shoes, I understand that your job is difficult and that you are doing all that you can to support students in reaching their goals, and being college and career ready.

“With the recent conversation regarding teacher evaluations, I want to tell you today that no evaluation system in the nation is working perfectly and that the evaluation itself doesn’t improve teaching—it is support, professional development, and your hard work that will continue to improve teaching in Idaho.” More here.
