Freezing rain, snow to fall

A new slug of winter weather is about to bring a mix of snow, rain and wind to the Inland Northwest.

Spokane should see mainly snow, but some rain could get mixed into it on Tuesday.

The forecast appears to be a recipe for a hazardous morning commute depending on how much of the snow accumulates on roadways and how quickly it gets cleared away.

A series of weather advisories and warnings were posted across the Pacific Northwest for the pair of storms headed inland starting today.

The storms are arriving just ahead of the winter solstice at 2:44 a.m. on Wednesday, the official start of winter/ Mike Prager , SR. More here.
