BOISE – So much for being underdogs.

And two touchdown underdogs at that.

Idaho took control in the second quarter and built a 34-point lead in the third quarter as the Vandals knocked off heavily favored Colorado State 61-50 in the 20th Famous Idaho Potato Bowl Thursday before a crowd of 24,975 at Boise State’s Albertsons Stadium.

The game wasn’t as close as the final margin.

After CSU scored just its second touchdown late in the third quarter, Idaho essentially put it away when running back Aaron Duckworth scored on a 5-yard run early in the fourth quarter to put the Vandals ahead 48-14.

Vandals running back Isaiah Saunders’ third touchdown, a 12-yard run, put Idaho ahead 61-28 with 7:40 to go.

Sanders finished with 147 yards on 33 carries/ Greg Lee , SR. More here.
