NIC picks Rumpler as spokeswoman
North Idaho College President Rick MacLennan has announced the hiring of Laura Rumpler to fill the vacant position of Chief Communications and Government Relations Officer.
“Laura comes to us with a strong and effective background in public relations and communications,” MacLennan said. “Her record of local engagement and community commitment will serve NIC and the communities we serve exceptionally well.”
Rumpler currently works as the director of communications for Coeur d’Alene Public Schools. She previously worked as the assistant director of development for Inland Northwest Health Services and led communication and community relations efforts for the City of Bend, Ore. and Spokane County. Her alma mater is Gonzaga University where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and Speech Communication.
Rumpler will replace Mark Browning, who vacated the Vice President for Communications and Government Relations position in September. The college conducted a nationwide search resulting in the selection of Rumpler.
“I’m excited and honored to join President MacLennan’s leadership team, advocating for the continued success of North Idaho College,” Rumpler said. “I deeply appreciate the years I have served Coeur d’Alene Public Schools and I remain dedicated to this community to further public education opportunities for our region”/ Tom Greene , NIC Press Room.
