Dems should look in mirror
Reading the opinion piece (Dec. 15) that Schumer and Democrats will continue fighting for their left-of-center policies left me wondering at what point does the party look in the mirror and confront reality? Their domestic and international agendas have yielded progressive congressional, gubernatorial and state legislative losses and Republican gains during the past six years – does that not give you cause to re-evaluate the leadership of Obama, Pelosi, Reid, et al?
Do you really believe we need more fringe, leftist ideals of Bernie, Warren and the new party chairman?
The chicanery and buffoonery of the past election have exhausted most Americans; please, spare us continued partisan rancor, especially from the losing party, and provide more worthwhile governance to reduce social polarization in our country and anti-Western threats abroad.
The Dems’ and media’s obsessive fixation with anything Trump needs to be muted, and let’s just see what the GOP can do now. If this party fails to deliver, then vote ‘em out of office in the next two to four years. That’s the American way.
