Getting rid of your Christmas tree in Spokane, Kootenai counties
Trees should be placed a few feet away from garbage and recycling carts. They will be chipped and composted after pickup.
Residents of Spokane County and Spokane Valley can cut up their trees and put them in their yard waste carts. Customers without a yard waste cart can still put their tree on the curb, but they will be charged an extra item fee.
Trees also can be dropped off for a minimal charge at the Waste to Energy Facility, 2900 S. Geiger Blvd.; Spokane Valley Transfer Station, 2941 N. Sullivan Road; and the North County Transfer Station, 22123 N. Elk-Chattaroy Road. Trees dropped off at the University Road Transfer Station at 2405 N. University Road should be cut into 4-foot pieces. More.
