Athol man allegedly hits ISP car, runs

At just after 6 p.m. Tuesday, Kootenai County sheriff’s deputies were sent to Prairie Avenue and Rude Street for a hit and run crash that involved an Idaho State Police car. Reportedly, the trooper was stopped in traffic at Highway 95 and Prairie Avenue, waiting for the light when he was rear-ended by dark-colored sedan. The suspect driver then attempted to flee, westbound on Prairie Avenue at a high rate of speed. After a short pursuit, the car yielded at Prairie Avenue and Rude Street. The driver, later identified as Kyle M. Hodgson, 24, of Athol, was detained without further incident until deputies arrived on scene. More here.
