Labrador issues statement on Rand Paul withdrawal; he’s ‘disappointed’
Idaho Rep. Raul Labrador, who served as western states chairman for Rand Paul’s GOP presidential campaign, issued a statement tonight on Paul’s withdrawal from the race, saying he’s “disappointed,” but remains “hopeful that we will nominate a strong conservative” as the GOP nominee. Here’s his full statement:
“It was an honor to stand with my friend Rand Paul. He is an honorable man and has worked tirelessly to advance the cause of liberty for all. I could not be more proud of his campaign. I am excited to continue our work in Washington, D.C. fighting for a government that truly respects individual liberties and freedom and refuses to play favorites. While I am disappointed that he has suspended his campaign, I am very hopeful that we will nominate a strong conservative in July and reclaim the White House.”
