Letter: Jury didn’t let Samuel down

In a letter to the Coeur d’Alene Press editor, Susan Wheat of Coeur d’Alene writes about the guilty verdict in the Eldon Gale Samuel III double murder case:

This is in regards to the quote by Chief Public Defender John Adams stating, “I am heartbroken that yet again Eldon has been let down by adults that should have protected him” regarding the Samuel verdict. My take on things? It is an insult to the women and gentlemen who put their lives on hold to hear this heartbreaking case and who came to a unanimous decision. If anything, I feel Mr. Adams is the adult who let Samuel down. Instead of having him take accountability for what he did, showing some remorse and asking for forgiveness, he “assured” him that it was not his fault…and was everyone else’s fault. There are MILLIONS of people in this country who have suffered severe abuse and have not murdered their parents, siblings, or anyone else for that matter. More here.

Question: What do you think?
