Library staff always there

Regarding “Library loses human touch (Jan. 31)”: Mitch Finley should have no worries about a dehumanized library. There are competent staff who obtained that book and video for him. He probably walks by them often at his library.

Library automation makes it possible to maximize taxpayer dollars in terms of a larger materials budget (more books for you) and expanding or retaining open hours in this time of shrinking budgets.

Maybe next time he is in the library, give the staff a smile and hello. I bet you’ll get one in return. They will always be there for you.
