Edit: No place for taunts in prep hoops

Hundreds of basketball games have been played in Idaho gymnasiums this winter, but none quite like the contest on a wintry Thursday night last month on the Minico hardcourt. This game won’t be remembered because it showcased great basketball, even though it did. The most remarkable thing about this game didn’t even happen on the floor – it was in the stands. Caught up in the bitter rivalry between Minico and Burley high schools, Minico students began to chant directly at an opposing player, repeatedly saying his mother’s name: Tara Bagley, a former Burley schools administrator convicted of sexually abusing two of her female students. She’s in prison paying for her crimes. On Jan. 28, her son paid for them, too. Minico students made sure of that. Now, it’s Minico’s turn to pay. A provincial arm of the Idaho High School Activities Association fined the school $1,500 this week, the steepest penalty it could levy under its rules/ Twin Falls Times-News Editorial Board . Question: When did you last see poor sportsmanship at a high school game?
