Poll: Occupation accomplished little
- Weekend Poll: A supermajority of Hucks Nation said the Malheur Wildlife Refuge occupation by the Bundy brothers and their followers accomplished “little or nothing” or created a “backlash of support for public lands.” 188 of 328 respondents (57.32%) said the lengthy occupation, which ended with most occupiers in jail or facing federal charges and one dead, did “little or nothing” to help the cause of the neo-sagebrush rebels. 97 of 328 respondents (29.57%) said the occupation created a backlash of support for public lands. Only 19 each (5.79%) said the occupation created sympathy for the insurgents cause and/or provided a platform for the rebels to pursue their cause in court. 5 (1.52%) were undecided.
- Today’s Poll: Should legislators eliminate the right of local governments to vote on issues that affect their economy (minimum wage, plastic bags, school election dates, etc.)?
