Sheriff hopeful backs ‘organized militia’

In a question-and-answer video interview with Don Bradway of Redoubt News in Bonner County Saturday, Kootenai County sheriff’s candidate John Green said he’s 100% in favor of an “organized militia” in Idaho. Green, who ran unsuccessfully for county sheriff 4 years ago, said an organized state militia is the only way to prevent the federal government from what he sees as continuing to over reach its authority. Also, Green said that local sheriffs should be the ones involved in forming the state militia. Of the unorganized militias, Green said their “hearts in the right place.” You can see the video of Bradway, a Kootenai County Precinct Committeeman, interviewing Green (8:05 mark in the YouTube video) here. Also, you can see other candidate interviews and read the American Redoubt report of the Bonner County Lincoln Day Dinner Saturday here.
