Drop bathroom rule

Imagine a young girl walking into the women’s bathroom in the Spokane Valley Mall, only to find a man standing there. This should never happen, and it certainly should never be legal.

I am extremely grateful for the elected officials in Olympia who are trying to reverse the harmful actions of the Washington State Human Rights Commission with regards to bathroom access.

I am extremely disappointed in those senators who voted against SB 6443, which would have made the Human Rights Commission’s bathroom position void.

I call on all our elected officials to do the right thing and get rid of the open-bathroom rule.
