Treated well at Outback Steakhouse

Mrs. O and I joined our in-laws and their daughter for a family birthday party at the Outback Steakhouse Friday night. The food was good. Per usual. But the service was exceptional. First, a waitress dug up a birthday candle to go with a home-made pie that my niece brought from Sandpoint for her mother Joni’s birthday. Then, she provided quality service. But I was impressed most with the way restaurant proprietor Daniel de Hora moved around the room to make sure that each table of diners were satisfied with its food and service. He gave our table, with its birthday balloons extra TLC, providing a free slice of cheese cake to the birthday girl. And then offering a different piece of pie when one of the diners at our table said cheese cake wasn’t a favorite. Proprietor De Hora couldn’t do enough for the Birthday Girl and handed her a gift card for $20 off her next meal at the Steakhouse. I have encountered a lot of good dining service in the Lake City. But I can’t remember such quality TLC from a proprietor (outside of Steve Widmyer at the Fort Ground Grill during Blogfest each year, of course)/ DFO.

Question: When did you last have great service from a restaurant proprietor?
