Spokane River anglers: no need to wait until spring

FISHING — Cool weather and brown weather hasn’t kept some anglers from checking out their home water this month.

Kelli Hornbaker, pictured above, caught and released this feisty rainbow trout casting a Panther Martin lure — gold blade orange body — in the Spokane River downstream from Nine Mile Falls Dam.

Note: The Spokane River upstream from Plese Flats in Riverside State Park closes to fishing on March 15 for the spring spawning season.
