CEC panel wraps up hearing, pledges to take testimony ‘seriously’

Rep. Neil Anderson, R-Blackfoot, has wrapped up the state worker pay hearing this afternoon after extended comments from former state Sen. Dean Cameron, R-Rupert, now the director of the state Department of Insurance; Cameron said his agency struggles to keep key workers and fill positions.

“I think it’s obvious to all of us how important this subject is,” Anderson said. His co-chairman, Sen. Jim Patrick, R-Twin Falls, said, “We will take this seriously, including all the testimony that’s been emailed to us.”

Anderson said the Change in Employee Compensation Committee will reconvene next week on Wednesday at 2 p.m. “The governor gives his State of the State address on Monday, so we’ll have some idea as to what he thinks on this subject,” he said. “Some years we’ve gone along with that, some years not so much.”
