Amend government

Government is the highest form of community. It’s our collective effort to develop a system so we can all get along. It’s not perfect by any means. It constantly needs amending to serve the most citizens while limiting exploitation of individuals.

This anti-government movement is classic foot-shooting. The radical right thrives from blindness by Americans focused on foreign threats. What’s their solution? Create independent, autonomous nations at property lines?

Carly Fiorina has benefited as the San Bernardino tragedy has everyone’s attention. Would it be too politically incorrect to ask if the Colorado Planned Parenthood killer was inspired by her?

How different would we deal with the Oregon situation if the federal facility had been commandeered by black people seeking housing? This takeover by self-serving zealots could be just a tip of an iceberg — a danger to our country that would make ISIS and all terrorism insignificant.

True patriots understand the need to cherish, protect, and improve our imperfect government. Not destroy it.
